FMCG distributorship questions, answered
How long does the distributor application take?
Applications are reviewed within two working days. A qualified applicant then goes through a commercial call, a warehouse and market verification, and a distribution agreement — typically two to four weeks end to end.
How do I get FMCG distribution in the GCC?
Dutch & Habro appoints one FMCG distributor per territory across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain, covering pest control, hygiene, air care, home care, garden care and shoe care on a single agreement. Open the territory page for the market you want, then apply online with your trade licence, warehousing and sales capacity. Applications are reviewed within two working days.
Do you appoint more than one distributor per territory?
Territory exclusivity is agreed case by case and written into the distribution agreement, together with the brands covered and the performance targets attached. In most markets we appoint a single partner per territory.
Do you offer private label manufacturing?
Yes. We manufacture private label household insecticides, cleaning, hygiene and air-care products for retail chains, facilities-management companies and institutional buyers across the Gulf, with minimum order quantities set per format.
What support do distributors receive?
Product and technical training, regulatory dossiers for product registration, Arabic-compliant artwork, launch stock planning, promotional support and a named regional account manager.
Which languages do you support?
English and Arabic across all commercial and technical documentation. Our regional team also works in Hindi, Malayalam and Urdu, which are the practical languages of traditional-trade route sales across the Gulf.
What does the entry investment cover?
Opening stock, warehousing, delivery vehicles and the sales staff needed to service the agreed route. Trade licensing, product registration fees and any local regulatory costs sit outside that figure and are borne by the distributor.
Do I need existing distribution experience?
It helps considerably but is not mandatory. We weight demonstrated coverage of the relevant sales channels, warehousing, van-sales capability and financial capacity more heavily than years in business.
Which questions differ by country?
Licensing and registration by market — licensing, registration, channel structure and investment differ by market. Each country page carries its own FAQ set:
